Video cards for laptop gaming????

i want to buy a laptop for various thing but i want it to be able to play rome total war on it aswell,so i need a laptop with an ok video card, i haven't got much cash but i know the spec i want and i will get a second hand one, but getting the correct video card is crucial.

the video card has to be directx 9.0b compatible so can you help me find the right one?

are these cards directx 9.0b compatible? and would they be good enough for my requirements?

yes the ati1200 on up stuff is dx-9 i believe you will be fine.i'd buy a lappy with the biggest prosser i could and low mem then add mem later. get best value that way. don't forget an extra batt lol.=)

none of these are good for gaming, however the best one out of the bunch is the x1200. It is DX9.0b compatible but if you want to play games in all of their glory get a laptop that supports a PCI express card rather than an imbedded one like alll of these.
no. a good graphics card for a laptop is a nvidia 8600m, like the one in an apple macbook pro. Those cards you have are intergrated. they will not play games well, if at all. A good and cheap laptop would be the 3rd one in the list on the site. Its a dell xps m1530 with a nvida 8600 for 1399, which is a good price.

They are all Direct 9 compatible.

I got a Geforce FX 5500, which supports DirectX 9. I install DirectX 9.0c and got no problems with the card.

So, these cards work on ALL versions of DirectX 9.

Oh yes, Intel GMA X3100 is NOT a graphics card. It is intergrated into the Notebook's motherboard.
