Video Card Compatiblility?

i have a nVidia FX 5200 Video Card will it be compatible with my system?



my computer specs



dell dimension e310



3-4years old



3.00ghz pentium 4 ht



1gb ram



integrated sound/video



windows xp media center edition



will the video card work on my computer?

Because Geforce FX 5200 runs on an AGP slot which is different from PCI slots. You could buy a really old PCI card, that isn't PCI express. But I doubt you could find one, plus regular PCI cards use some processing power. Honestly you could get a new PC for around 300-500 bucks without monitor. Depending on what you use it for. However I think a graphics card on that system is out of reach for you. Sorry.

So yes you can upgrade the graphics, the question is why bother with the limited choices. The integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics of the 915G chipset is not that bad unless you want to run newer PC games - it should be sufficient for the average desktop user.
