Video Capture Software?

I'm looking to move my home movies from VHS to DVD I do have a video card %26amp; cable that I can hook up to the VCR to do it. But I'm not sure what software to use. I've looked for software for the video card I have but didn't turn up with anything. I'm running Windows Vista and have an nvidia video card. So if you have and free software (Legal) software. Else anything I can buy.

Since your video is already in mpeg - which is the format required to burn a DVD why not capture and edit as mpeg - every conversion has the potential to degrade your video quality - so the less times you do it the better.

One video editor software package which will capture - edit - and burn mpeg to a DVD is Ulead VideoStudio - it is also one of the few editors which is Vista compatible. I have it working with an Nvideo card with no problem at all.

You can get further info and a free one month trial to see if it works for you from :-

Since your VHS is analog, so you will need a device to convert it to digital then you can burn it to DVD. Here is the company Canopus that make very good product just to do that. Here is the web site for you to check out.
