When i connect my PC to my TV using an s video cable i get horizontal lines on the display. I heard that if i change the vertical sync freq on my video card i can get it to work properly. How do i do it on a Nvidia Geforce 7300 GT video card

While I'm not sure how to change the Vsync settings I can tell you that when using Svideo it operates at a far less resolution than what you computer monitor opearates at. If you using this card then you are probably seeing something like 1280X1024 on your moniter, your TV can only do up to 480i (if its hooked up through svideo). So that may be a large part of your problems. It may also not be the Vsync settings it could be a bad cable to. Also you should check other settings on the card because there are other things that can cause this. If it came with a software suite load that up and change settings through there. Also it should have came with a manual and if the method to change the Vsync isn't mentioned in it then the card may not have the ability to adjust it. One final note is that some TV's have the ability to adjust there own Vsync as well, although not many of them do nowadays.
Hope this helps Good luck!

i've done this and the image on the tv is a little blurry, the big old TV's weren't meant to be built for using computers on, maybe because its not LCD or plasma but nearly every HD or normal LCD and plasma have either VGA or DVI or both in some cases, so you can connect your computer to the TV, and the image is excellent, just like a pc monitor.
